“According to client testimonials, one game is comparable to 6-8 coaching sessions, which means that in one game, you can get through 1.5-2 months of professional coaching.”

What is Game Consulting?

Game consulting is an innovative method of addressing a great variety of needs ranging from resolving personal issues and improving relationships to determining career paths, raising consciousness, and effectively addressing life challenges. This consulting method allows to expand awareness and facilitate change.

Why Game Consulting is such an effective method? Games allow you to think systematically, feel deeply, and act optimally

What are Games?

They are the first method of learning that humans master in all cultures, making it a universal way of comprehension. We learn faster by playing, that’s how we are wired.

  • They are a space where you can safely have any experience. Since it’s a simulation, it’s safe, and you can test different ways of doing things without exposing yourself to real danger.
  • They can be a model of any life scenario that helps do things with ease and readiness to take on challenges.
  • They are fun, they create an existing and pleasurable experience, making the process of addressing issues enjoyable and intriguing.

Why Play these Games?

Practically, Psychological and Transformational games are used for:

  • A better understanding of yourself, your desires, meanings and values.
  • Understanding of your choice making strategies and behaviors.
  • Detection of repeating scenarios and behavioral patterns.
  • Becoming aware of your resources and limitations.
  • Finding optimal solutions for goal accomplishment, considering all personal characteristics of an individual.

For the past five years, I have been facilitating these games for individuals and companies. Game Consulting is an incredible new field, interested to know more? Scroll down for more.

Psychological and transformational games are a hybrid of coaching, psychological, and training instruments in a tabletop game format. The participant(s) (group or individual) get together behind a table and with the help of a professional facilitator are utilizing the game as a tool to get outside the boundaries of their usual way of thinking, to deeply analyze themselves and find self-development methods that are in alignment with their goals.

A game takes away the limitations of reality, and we can see much broader, think more freely, and because it’s just a game, emotions lose their impact on our mind. That’s why a game can make the process of finding answers much faster. Besides, a game allows us to get away from the standard of situations we are used to and view the process from a different angle. A game allows projecting of real problems on a modeled situation. Sometimes it’s difficult to see circumstances for what they are, emotions and past experiences often interfere. The game format allows us to view your situation in dimension and reflect on your ways of dealing with issues.

It shows what kind of situations you keep getting into, how to react in those situations, and how you can change and improve your reactions.
It can help you figure out what direction to take knowing who you are and what you want.
It can help find a solution to an old question (how to keep an interest in something, how to raise self-esteem, and much more).
It will help you resolve a dilemma or see it from a different angle. It can help you see the mistakes you keep repeating and how to stop the vicious cycle. Games can help you improve relationships/communication. It can show you how to realize your highest potential.

Precisely because it’s not serious. In a game, everything is for fun, meaning there is exaggerated importance of things, you are free to let go of your fears and worries and let your imagination flow. A game is like a mirror, it reflects our familiar patterns and choice making strategies that we can then analyze and change. A game is a space of randomness that can lead to new thoughts and ideas that we didn’t notice before. A game creates a space of the growth mindset. Unlike reality, where you may not be able to solve specific tasks, in a game, you can do it while taking on a new role or being a different you. We can safely test new variations and approaches to solving tasks. A game allows projecting real problems onto a modeled situation.

Games are played in a tabletop format. You will be guided by an experienced facilitator that helps process realizations and insights and will encourage you to take action. The experience you will have during the game can be easily applied in real life situations.  You will leave not only with an impression of a transformational experience but with a clear understanding of what to do next.

With the help of a game, you can really raise the quality of life. Here is how to better understand yourself (find out what you actually want, what your real values are and which areas are strained, how to move forward, how to sustain yourself in stressful situations). You will gain an understanding of your:
*Internal resources and how to utilize them. *Internal obstacles/limitations and how to remove them.
*Which path to choose to attain the desired goals.

Games can be of interest to those who are into self-development, and who wants to use their time effectively. A game helps change the way you perceive processes in your life (the way you look for answers, analyze, and find solutions) all of this decreases the significance and relieves anxiety and consequently speeds up the resolution process. Games help get out of the familiar thinking patterns, change vision focus, and obtain ideas that aren’t easy to come by on your own.

There can be any and all types of questions, ranging from carrier, money, relationships, and/or boosting creativity. They can be simple and practical questions. For an example, How can I make a certain amount of money? Or even theoretical questions such as,  “What’s my highest purpose?” Here are three top questions that people ask during my games:                        “How do I start making money on my hobby?”
How do I build a happy relationship?”
“What do I really want?”
