Where are we?

The future will depend on what level of consciousness we will be operating from.

To know where we are moving, we first need to understand where we are now.

It seems that the majority are out of touch with the world and scattered. The next question comes to mind, do we want it to be this way, and whether we are doing things consciously or automatically? The virus brought many of us to our knees or the low level of operating, thinking about the basics, instinctive needs, survival, etc. We have been paying more attention to what affects our daily living, thinking about routine things that usually are done automatically and taken for granted. In the same manner, we can start with the basics and go back to what we should have been focusing on, paying attention to the part we take in our lives and the lives of others around us. We are forced to evaluate and give up some of our habitual ways and look into what we are driven by and why. Go back and reflect on our patterns, something we aren’t conscious of.

So how do we start understanding how we operate and what drives us? By observing where our attention is because the energy is where the attention is. Where is your attention, is it on what you can change, the solutions, or on the problems and obstacles?

Don’t give in to fear, this is how it grows, and this is how you become venerable, physically, mentally, and spiritually. This is how you are controlled by whoever needs us to be afraid. Panic is a mass fear that takes away our ability to reason and come up with alternative outcomes. It applies to everything we do in life and what type of attention/energy we invest into it. Do we want to spend our energy dealing with theoretical problems, the ones our minds come up with out of fear, or save the energy to deal with real issues? The same goes for when we are scared for our health or wellbeing, do we want to let fear take our energy or spend it on strengthening our body and mind?

What will ultimately take over and what we will resort to in isolation is something we will have to answer individually. In the meantime, I’m suggesting keeping a gratefulness practice. It can do wonders.

You can simply list (in writing) 10 things you are grateful for each day and let yourself feel it, be in it, not just think about it.
An addition or an alternative to this practice (personal preference) can be keeping track of pleasant daily experiences. Just start paying attention to what brings you joy, what makes you smile and feel warm inside. To get the most out of it, write it down and add what you were feeling at the time of the experience, what mood did you have, and what did it make you think of?

Begin your path to conscious living by expanding your awareness to what makes you feel happy to be alive. Expansion, evolvement, and growth start from within.
